Drought declarations - Queensland

Created 04/05/2025

Updated 04/05/2025

This dataset shows whether Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Queensland are fully, partly or not drought-declared.Drought declarations are made by the Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries based on the advice of Local Drought Committees (LDCs). LDCs will recommend a declaration when an area meets the Queensland Government's drought criteria, principally a one in 10 year rainfall deficiency, amongst other significant factors.Additionally, there may be a number of Individually Droughted Properties (IDPs) outside the shires shown. For details, plus a map and description of the current drought declarations, go to The Long Paddock web site: https://www.longpaddock.qld.gov.au/drought/drought-declarations/
