The Long term average rainfall map layer - CFI rainfall map shows the long term average annual rainfall (mm) across continental Australia, calculated for the period 1921-2010.

For the purposes of the regulations, legislative rules and methodology determinations under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011, including:

the Long term average rainfall map layer – CFI rainfall map provided here is the:

  • CFI rainfall map; and

  • Long Term Average Rainfall Map Layer

For the purposes of section 2.3(6) of the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) (Reforestation by Environmental or Mallee Plantings–FullCAM) Methodology Determination 2014, as made in 2014 and varied in 2015, the long term average rainfall map layer provided here is the long term average rainfall map layer in the CFI Mapping Tool.
