This dataset describes a 1:50 000 land resource survey completed over 38 200 ha of the Spyglass Beef Research Station, north of Charters Towers, Queensland.The three main components of the survey included: 1) a conventional soil survey to provide detailed information on the soils and land resources of the research station, including maps, reports and analytical data, 2) a land suitability assessment of approximately 760 ha of land adjacent to the Burdekin River for potential irrigated agriculture activities (in prog) and 3) a Digital Soil Mapping (DSM) exercise to provide continuous spatial mapping of soil attributes relevant to grazing and animal research.32 soil types were identified and 324 sites described.
