This dataset is a land resource survey (1:100 000) and land suitability assessment undertaken for the Kilcummin area. The Kilcummin area is located 150 km north-west of Emerald in Queensland's central highlands. This area was a priority choice for detailed land resource survey and land suitability assessment because of its variety of easily cultivated lands, marginal rainfall regime and position in an expanding cropping area.During the study, 35 soil profile classes, seven phases, six variants and one group of miscellaneous soils were identified.
